AI gets pwnd by haters and we love it!

Before I go any further, I just want to state for the record that I am NOT a Celine Dion fan. Those who know me can attest that my musical tastes are clearly on the opposite end of the spectrum. But the current American Idol talent circus is truly some of the most entertaining shit to come along in some time. Not for reasons the show's producers intended, mind you. Who cares about the people who can actually sing worth a damn! The real fun is thanks to such luminary culture commentators as Howard Stern and the folks at VoteForTheWorst.com who are doing a fantastic job of pushing the worst singers on the show to the top of the heap. The current champion is a talentless kid named Sanjaya (pictured above, yes that's his real hair).

Needless to say, this is causing a storm of controversy among the "true" American Idol fans, who claim that the show is being taken hostage and ruined by all the haters who keep voting for the worst singers, week after week. Someone should inform these delusionists that their favourite show is not actually a singing contest as the producers claim, it's a celebrity contest. And as a visit to any grocery store in the world will show, folks just can't get enough nose-jobbing, rehab-ditching, orphan-adopting celebrities in their life. If we can have a good laugh at their expense, so much the better!

Sanjaya sucks! Go Sanjaya!

Challenge: Name all 50 States in 10 minutes...

Think you can do it?

Here is a quick mental challenge for all the 15posts readers to see how well you can identify all 50 states. This challenge for me brought back memories of sitting at the university bar between classes - and madly scribbling down the answers on a napkin.

Thanks to Ironic Sans blog for resurrecting the idea. By the way, the element that f*ck me up the most was the spelling. ;)

Post your results in the comments. Good Luck!

Are you guilty of jealousy or indifference?

Every once in a while, I am baffled by humans - and the absurdity of our thinking.

This particular news story was identified on The Hour with George Stroumboulopoulos. If you didn't catch the episode, I can tell you that his reaction was priceless.

The news story originated from Mexico (the land where Canadians go to vacation - and hopefully return). Seems the Mexican politicians have invoked a new law for crimes against women. The brief version of this new law is simply if men found guilty of jealousy or indifference, they could face up to five years in prison. Mexico's individual states will determine the punishments. Apparently, there has been an increase in infidelity and abstinence and has been targeted as abuse towards woman.

To quote a spokesperson in Mexico, special prosecutor Alicia Elena Perez Duarte said, '...the law would be a weapon that women could employ to level the playing field with abusive men...'.

So I can understand possibly the jealousy and how you may be able to argue that in a court of law - but indifference?

Tell me what you think.

Really, its not that wee

Ladies and gentlemen, let me introduce you to a quick little website. It slices, it dices, it vacuums, it shampoos, it kisses you goodnight, it wakes you up in the morning with fresh coffee - and it might even be able to solve that programming problem you're working on right now. Intrigued?

Honestly, these scripts are coming.
But, ... in the meantime, here is a little website with a round-up of currently popular code snippets written in Ajax.
